In cases where you do not presently take any kind of contraceptive that is hormonal, you can still hold your period in a safe manner and effectively. A prescription drug, Norethisterone is composed of synthetic progestogen which is similar to those in oral contraceptives. With the intake of the medication, typically 3-4 days before expecting your period, it maintains the natural progestogen level in the body as well as delaying the shedding of the womb lining and the start of your period. This is an easy treatment but it is still advised not to delay your period for more than two weeks. You have to consult your doctor in case you have questions about the treatment and how long you can safely utilize the medication.

How to delay your period in a safe way?

You have to bear in mind that delaying your period should not be harmful to your body, as long as it is not done several times and for prolonged periods. It is always best to consult your doctor before you are planning to try out on how to delay your period to make sure that it is a safe option for you to take.

  1. Hi there. I’m urgently looking for advice. I was sterilized 14yrs ago. A month ago I went for the 2months injection hoping to stop my heavy periods. Its already 3 weeks that I’m having my period. It is very light. Used to be heavy but for about 5 to 7 days. The blood coming out is very dark almost black. Is there a way to stop it as I don’t want my period over new year.

  5. I have a pool party to go to tomorrow with my cuz and I WANT TO GET RID OF MEH PERIOD!!! How do I do that without taking pills or using tampons? I’m only 13 going on 14 and I want to get rid of it fast so plzz reply asap!! It would really help me a lot!!!
